Subject: [VIDEOS] 101119 FCI MORNING EYE WEEKEND JYJ INTERVIEW Thu Jan 06, 2011 9:34 am
Part 1 Trans Host: Today’s guest, who are also extremely popular in japan, will be the three members of JYJ. *greet each other* Host: Wow, there actually is such an aura around you three!*laugh* Please, sit down. Host: This feels very refreshing. So you’ve debuted in America, what are your feelings? Yoochun: It’s nerve racking. We feel quite nervous. Activities in Asia we’ve quite gotten used to it, but we’re a bit worried about starting actiivites in America, and we also have some expectations that we want to reach. So it’s a mixture of many emotions. Jaejoong: Yea, I feel the same way too. It’s always like this in a place where you start new that you feel nervous. Because the language is different too. Like when we first came to Japan, it’s kind of a similar feeling: in a new world with a new language, we are introducing our music. So yea, this kind of situation can be nerve racking Junsu: I feel very nervous debutting in america, but right now speaking japanese after a long time is making me more nervous. Host: *laugh* But you are all very good. So is this your first time going to America?
Junsu: No, actually we’ve been to America quite a number of times before. Jaejoong: Yea we’ve gone before.. Jaejoong and Yoochun: But this time we’re debuting in America. Junsu: But it is our first time in New York. Host: Oh I see. How is New York? Junsu: It’s very likely and sparkling lights everywhere. Host: Sparkling? Yoochun: Sparkling hahaha. Junsu: Yes, it’s very sparkling. Host: Haha okay. So, debuting in America with new album right? That’s amazing.. What are you feelings in regards to the album? Yoochun: Yea, the album name is the beginning. We’ve worked on it for about two years, and it has the feel of being a first time debut album, not like other albums we’ve released. It also has the feelings of a new start and that we’ll try our best and keep going. Host: How’s the completion of the album? Jaejoong: Umm, I think it became a pretty good album. The three of us are from Asia, and we collaborated with American artists. So I wonder how other americans will react to this album, so this is something I’m not sure about yet. I wonder how it’ll be… Because in Asia, there are some similarities in culture even if it’s different countries but I’ve never lived in America and don’t have any friends there either…so I really want know how people will feel about album. Host: What about recording? How was that? Junsu: Recording we are used to, but singing in english was kind of like the first time so we were very practiced in it, so that was a bit difficult. But yoochun helped us, and also other staff helped with pronunciation. With hard work I think it became quite a good album. Host: I see. So Yoochun, you helped them with their english? Yoochun: Just the pronunciation. Host: How is their English? Yoochun: It’s perfect. *everyone laughs haaahaaaa* Junsu: We tried our best! Jaejoong: Thank you! *to Yoochun* Host: Was English hard? Jaejoong: Yes, it’s hard. Quite difficult. Host: Compared to debuting in Japan and right now, do you have different feelings? Jaejoong: The feelings are the same I think. *Jaejoong and Junsu at loss for words* Junsu: All in all, debuting in a new country, there is a lot of pressure. But overcoming these hurdles in our dream. So that’s why we’ll continue to keep working hard. Host: The three of you right now are extremely popular in Japan right now. Do you know that? Junsu: Yea, we’ve been hearing that. Host: Right now people who don’t listen to k-pop are very rare! All three: We’re happy to hear that. Host: Did you ever think this would ever happen? Jaejoong: We really hoped that it would turn out this way. Host: Yes, it’s like a new phenomenon in society. Will it be the same in America? Jaejoong: It’ll be great if that is the case. Junsu: Yes, we’ll try our hardest. Host: How do you want the concert tonight to turn out? Yoochun: Today’s our first showcase in America, I want people to look and listen to our music and want to listen to our music even more. Tonight, standing on a stage in New York, I really want to try my best. Host:What is the highlight of tonight’s performance? Jaejoong: Tonight’s highlight is… Yoochun: Junsu. Jaejoong: Is it Junsu? *Everyone laugh haaahaahaa* Junsu: Well that comment makes me happy..hahahha Host: What about Junsu? Jaejoong: Junsu’s wave…and his sexy moves…haahhahah. Jaejoong: But among that well…a showcase is a stage where you show yourselves right? We will be dancing and singing with all our best efforts, but I also want the audience to absorb themselves with us, and for the audience themselves to spread their feelings to each other. This is music they’re listening to for the first time…. “I’m dancing to music I don’t even know.” That’s the kind of feelings I want to shape in the audience today. I want to create a natural stage. Host: How do you feel? You are known as the highlight..but what do you think about tonight’s concert? Junsu: Well tonight will be our first tiem on stage in America, so we feel excited and nervous too. We really want to create a good stage with everyone. Host: The path to this point must have been difficult and painful. What was the most painful thing? Jaejoong: The most difficult? Right now? Host: Up till this day. Jaejoong: Well, to specify that this situation was difficult, that was difficult, and this other situation was tiring, is a bit hard to say right now. But there have been quite a lot of difficulties and hardships which have taken place to get to where we are right now. I think it’s best for us to say out loud that it was hard and painful, but to keep trying our best and move forward.Part 2 Trans Jaejoong: The people around us too, our family and our fans, worry a lot about us too which also is painful for us to watch. Yoochun: Yea, even for me it’s been pretty hard. I’ve really been wanting to eat japanese tonkotsu ramen. Yup. It’s been pretty hard. Hahahah Host: You like tonkotsu ramen? All of them: Yea we really like it. Junsu: We haven’t had recently…. Really want to eat~. Host: Is that so. Please come to Japan and eat! Junsu: You haven’t had it recently have you? Host: Yea me neither, haven’t eaten tonkotsu ramen in a long time. A staff member or someone: They have tonkotsu ramen in New York. Jaejoong: No, the taste is not the same. Junsu and Yoochun: Yes definitely not the same. Junsu: You have to go to that country and eat it! (Jaejoong: want to eat katsudon too) Junsu: Aah, I want to eat hitsumabushi. Host: I came to New York to talk to these three members, I didn’t think the topic would change to tonkotsu ramen! Jaejoong: I think japanese viewers who don’t live in Japan right now also feel the same way! Wanting to go back to eat katsudon and udon and tonkotsu… Junsu: For sure Host: Yes I’m sure they are. (Laugh laugh laugh xD Always gets to topic of food with them xD) Host: There was one other question I wanted to ask. Has your music changed from the past and the present? Junsu: Yes it has changed. Host: How has it changed? Junsu: This album has music produced by Kanye West and Rodney Jerkins, for the first time, and I think the feel of the music has been changed. Just the fact that all the lyrics are in English has changed the music greatly. We also tried our best to put new emotions and colours into the music. Host: So it’s kind of like you three are in the midst of evolving. Making progress. All three of them: Yea, it feels like that. Jaejoong: When you come to a new country, you have to change to match with that environment so in that same way, our music has changed to match the environment it will be exposed to. Host: I see. I’m sure even tonight there will be a lot of fans who have come from Japan. Could each of you please give them a message? Yoochun: A message? Recently we haven’t really been to Japan, everyone has been doing well right? Junsu: He sounds sad! Yoochun: Yes. Jaejoong. Jaejoong: Giving messages is the most pressuring! Host: Really! Been the fans will be overjoyed! Jaejoong: It’s kind of like writing in a mirror and it breaks. Host: Haha is that so. Well, does it make you happy that fans are coming from Japan? Jaejoong: Yes of course, makes me happy. Not just Japan, but everyone that comes from different countries that are far. The fact that they come all the way to see us makes us very happy. Are you doing well?*looks in camera* Is Japan doing well?*asks host* Host: *starts to say yes but stops*Since JYJ is not coming to Japan they might be sad. Jaejoong: It’s true we haven’t been there recently. We want to come soon! And stand on a new stage with the us that has matured and show a new performance. Junsu: Recently we haven’t been to Japan. We will try to come soon and go to Nagoya to eat hitsumabushi. Host: Wait a minute, why are the three of you so specific with all the food hahaha. Yoochun: When we were having the nation live in Japan, we ate a lot of new food so that’s why. Junsu: My favorite food from Japanese food is hitsumabushi. Host: I see, it is good isn’t it? Junsu: Yes, it really is. Host: What do you like Jaejoong? Yoochun: Free time (word play here. The word for free time is “himatsubushi” which rhymes with “hitsumabushi”. Yoochun’s being witty here Haas xD) Laugh laugh laugh Host: They’re Japanese is too good hahaha. Jaejoong: I want to eat the lunch box in the convenience stores in Japan! Host: Convenience store lunch boxes?? All three of them: Oh yeaa, so good, want to eaat. Host: Really!? Jaejoong: Wherever you go in the world, have there been lunch boxes that taste been than the convenience store ones in Japan? Host: Well, um, I guess not.. Jaejoong: It’s cheap and the portion is big too and it tastes good! Junsu: Also it’s fresh. Jaejoong: Mmm yea.. Jaejoong: Actually the there of us, we like average things. Host: Yes, it is indeed average. Junsu: Also gyuudon. (another type of rice bowl) Host: Woww, this is shocking. Not just from Japan but all over Asia, I’m sure a lot of fans will be here tonight to give you all power. So please accept their power and show them an amazing performance. All three of them: Yes, thank you very much. Host: Thank you very much!
