I work night shift at kallang, when i reach home to my apartment (name withheld) on the 18th floor, its usually about 1-2 am in the morning.

I remember one day, it was 2am in the morning when my shift ended, and i entered the lift to get to my unit. I pressed the button 18 and the lift door closed. As it was going up, i leaned my back against the wall and relaxed.

As the lift was ascending, everything was normal. But all off a sudden, it stopped, and the LCD panel on the top of the lift door showed "15". The lift then started to descend, and it stopped at the 11th storey. Odd...i thought to myself. I thought the lift should drop me off at the 18th level first before coming down to pick the next passenger.

The lift door opened, and i saw the eerie painted 11 on the wall under the moonlight. But a plank of wood was nailed across the lift entrance(strange! doesn't anyone live here?, and why aren't there any lights in this storey??!!) at waist level. The staircase entrance was also boarded up with planks of wood from floor to ceiling. "Some bloody prankster" i thought, and pressed the button for the door to close. Almost immediately, the lift door opened again after it closed, and i popped my head out, trying to search for the person playing with the lift.

There were 2 units on each level in the apartment. It was then i saw that the unit to the left still had construction materials like wooden ladder, cans of paint laid outside the wide open door, with one of its gates ajar. So, the prankster must have ran inside to hide. I caught a glimpse of the interior of the unit, but strangely it wasn't even furnished, and i could see the wires dangling from the ceiling where lights were supposed to be fitted. All of a sudden, the door slammed itself shut violently, and the gate that was ajar fell and leaned against the adjacent wall.

I freaked out and jammed at the lift button for the 1st storey. Luckily, this time the lift door closed and headed obediently for the first storey, although it seemed to take hours. I rushed out of the door even before it could open fully and ran to the guard on duty. I told him what happened at the 11th level, but he wasn't abit surprised.

According to him, a bangladeshi worker was killed in an accident during work while finishing the 11th story, during the building construction of this block. Construction work has since been halted for that unit, and upper level units were finished without any problem. The unit to the right on the 11 floor was also left unoccupied, as people have moved in and out on a few occasions, saying that something was not right with the house opposite, like someone crying behind the door late into the night, or their own door being knocked and no one was there when it was answered. Thus, not a single soul lived in that level. The entrances of the lift and staircase was also boarded up after the last family moved out of the unit on the right.

So, did someone really stay up till 2am, climb over the planked entrance of the lift and slam the door just to frighten me? Even so, how did he make the lift halt halfway at the 15th floor and make it return down?

whoa...this story made me more and more scared to use a lift after this...

hmmm....that apartment unit was quite interesting...
and I wouldn't use a lift if i am all alone...
i might stuck in there....but going to that 11th storey level...
really interests me...hmmm...i wonder what it looks like in reality....
